if consider the two cases separate first,
Attainable:the relationship will be easily satisfiable iff it is in balance.Here it means that there are some ingredients which will make it attainable such as trust,good problem solving,open,honest,good communication etc amoung the partiners.
Beyond reach.It is difficult to satisfy the relationship if there is little common ingredients.Therefore to be attainable or beyond reach it depends on the relationship ingredients of that relationship.
final:It is attainable iff they meet their ingredients.

Well I hate to sound depressing here.... but I think something like a Satisfying Relationship is not attainable.... maybe it is for a short time... but they dont seem to last. So when you take all these short term satisfying relationships and bundle them altogether, then that is all you got.... something nice for the moment... but dont expect it to last.
I read in the National Geographic recently that the most sought after commodity in the world now is.... human contact! And the smaller the world gets.. the more difficult it is to make human contact.

I don't know if I should start from your last lines "healing by touch" and take that literally.
If there is comunication, especially physical comunication, then there is a better chance that the message is not passed just verbally but by action.
If I had to open the subject myself, I would say that it all depends what there was originally. If there was a relationship not based on selfishness and the mere satisfaction of one's ego, yes then I would say that it should last.
The only dangers come from the outside like when the man finds another woman terribly attractive, and for curiosity or selfishness wants to satisfy that desire to bed with her. Same story for the woman of course.
