lifeisadream: Hi Koni!

I do love to garden and produce my own vegetables and fruits but right now we have problems with the water supply.

Although, I do recycle the most possible, I do not dream of having a garden. I hardly have water for the very few ornamentals plants and some herbs.

Keep up the gardening, that is great for you, your health and your economy!

I could have gotten a cistern but if I did, a family might be with not water.

NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: Having blooms on my tomatoes and now I have to water. We had a freeze last night
and I don't know how the plants did.

I put green onions and cherry tomatoes seeds in dirt, this is my first attempt at seeding.

Having lunch with a friend today and she has small plants to give me, she is the gardner, green house and all.

That's a nice beginning, Nakedmud! It is always starts with something simple and small but later, you want more and more and more. lol

As I always say: "So many species so little time!"

But it is a healthy addiction and rewarding!grin

Happy planting! It would be great, if you would report in a fall about what happened in your gardenwriting writing

I am not sure Chris, if your comment was sarcastic or just a joke.

I do not do any kind of drugs, NONE! I simply admire a Plant as a Plant.

venusenvy: Happy spring to you Konny...I love gardening and growing plants...I was growing orchids like mad in Mexico

I hear you V! For those who once tasted the Gardening it is very hard not to be able to do it anymore. I have been in this situation for years. But still managed to grow and plant stuff, in a small back yard spaces of houses that I've been renting. Until, three years ago. Now I have 3 acres to play on. And all those potted plants which I was dragging back and force for years, now have got a permanent home.

We have a man, here, he lives not far from me. Last year he built a 30x10m hothouse for his precious Orchids. He breeds them too.

WOW! That's really sucks,Life! blues

Water is everything for a Garden, especially in your area.

I do not water my Garden ever ... The type of soil and a weather conditions, in my area allow me not use water for watering.

John1337: Never have but this year I hope to get a vegetable garden going for our family just to save some money and maybe get into a hobbie haha

Hey there wave It is a very good news, that you are just about to become a GARDENER! Did you know, that the best Gardeners, garden designers and plant breeders are MEN? I hope so much, that gardening will become not just a hobby but the meaning of your life. I envy you, because you have so many years ahead to see your plants to grow and to become mature, in all beauty and the best performance.

I wish you good luck and a lot of patience and most of all, to love your plants. They will depend on you.

Welcome to my World! hug yay peace

p.s. A wee advice. Try to avoid F1 Hybrids (tomato's: Rainbow series, especially) Any Genetically modified (GM) seeds.

Nothing tastes better then Heirloom veggies and fruits.

Happy seeding and planting to your family and you cheers
