Your favorite picture are stored in a folder and if they have been moved to a disk they will now be on the disk not the hard-drive. However an original copy of your favorite pictures is probably in the original folder you stored it in
If you down load Google Picasa program it will search your computer for all image files on your drive.

"Chrome so I added all these extensions"!
Go into Chrome Settings, click on Extensions and remove the ones you don't want or recently added

Hi Rob I have got Picasa it did a search of my Computer but did not find my holiday pics some how they have dissapeard never to be heard of again, and didn't have to delete extensions thats why I went to system restore, wouldn't dare delete the extensions as I would most probably delete something I shouldn't and stuff up as usual.
Thank you anyway.

My computer has Windows Photo Gallery program you might check and see if you've got that program if you do try running that

The only extensions in my Chrome setup are Whois extension and Kaspersky anti-virus programs extensions. So i doubt you'd stuff anything by getting any others. Often people got PDF or PDF maker extensions if you have you might choose to keep. But otherwise i can't see how deleting an extension would will bother you

I have just found out that computers and wine are not always compatable. While wine can often impact on the input, computers are teetotallers and can easily die when you give your computer some. As I just found out with my laptop. My daughter reckons I must be getting old if I am spilling wine.doh

Luckily, I have a son-in-law who loves to laugh whenever I do something wrong on the computer (it is so easy) and he has managed to come up with some hi-tech hardware that may allow me to use the old hard drive as an external source so I have not lost all that data (fingers crossed when I plug it in).

Moral: always keep a backup copy somewhere else.

Picassa is very good for finding pictures on your system. Usually helps if you have a name of a picture and search for that. Once found, you just need to check out the "Properties" and hopefully find where they are located on your system.

Yeah i heard from someone else on here that coffee and laptops don't mix either......

I got a couple of external drive back ups, and have spent a bit of time trying to fathom what it might take to plonk the whole contents of my computers hard drive onto a new hard drive. Though i have Acronis True Home Image 2009 program (actually also purchased a later version but went back o 2009) though i have Acronis image making program (does good job, used images from it few times) apparently I heard buying a different size hard drive is likely to cause some problems. Thus effort I've put into trying to cover that possibility, tried Lapink and other programs, Toshiba has hidden petition, you can run the 2009 Acronis Start up manager because it can't handle hidden petition) (nor can other programs i've tried).
Dunno if i have got myself covered but have purchased Paragon Drive Copy program (had already other Paragon version 9) which is supposed to manage different size drive sorting.

I first started using computers in 1971 and continually teaching people how to use their computer programs to advantage. My formal training has only been in Lotus 123 and WordPerfect. Not quite true, I did do Advanced Excel last year. I haven't a clue what was said above but it sounds good. I think they use that 'speak' to baffle us and usually charge a fortune to fix our computers.

After fritzing my laptop (what a waste of a glass of wine) and thinking I had lost everything, my son-in-law has resolved the whole thing with a $20 bit of hardware. Haven't managed to test it yet, having trouble trying to work out opening the box it comes in. Turns out it is a "TRANSFORMER" box.

Okay, finally managed to do that after 1/2 hour and there are 3 little screws lying in the bottom of the boxconfused And a User Manual designed for those who use a magnifying glass to read. And yes, you need scissors to cut the cable thingy to allow you to connect. Love this hi-tech stuff.applause banana head banger

In the words of Sheldon "Bazingo." OMG, more quality time with the computer ....... (should be saying nice words here but I just want it to start when I turn my computer on).
