If you had a baby what are your favourite baby names for a boy or a girl?

This thread came to mind as the latest addition to our family is called Maddox Ryerson ******* ................. conversing

Have noticed with my childrens friends that plain, or what I call real, name are coming back.

I would still pick the names I chose for my children as among my favs, not sure they would like me listing their names here though.

I think children who got called outlandish and ridiculous names have grown up, and ripped into their parents for all the crap they have had to put up with for their parents silliness!

Me too. My daughter's name is very old fashioned. I haven't met anyone with her name in a very long time.

I worked in Childrens Allowance section back in the 80's....The big names were Sue Ellen and Pamela for girls lol.... The less affluent areas often seemed to have the fanciest names.
I worked with a mad character and she did a great impression of Mothers from these areas calling their kids in for dinner in a local accent!
I don't like boring names( I have a real boring name cos there were no name books in the middle of nowhere in the 60's! and my parents didn't know how to google!), I like Irish names that mean something or some nice Welsh ones too. I suppose I just prefer names relating to Country or Culture rather than celebrity type names.

Daniel and Chloe were apparently the most popular names in Ireland earlier this year. In the year(s) prior I remember reading somewhere it was Jack and Sophie.

I always wanted the name Alannah for a girl but I had two boys, one has a foreign name and the other an Irish name. I quite like Savannah too.
