In 1940 there were 42 workers per retiree.

In 1950, there were 16 workers per retiree.

In 2010 there were 2.8 workers per retiree.

By 2030, it's projected there will be fewer than two.

Now how will less than two workers pay for their families health care and that of someone else thats NOT related to them?

How will society come to support its pensioners anyway?

Immigrants? When obviously being an immigrant means that they will have NO family connection to the pensioners in question.

Are you talking about health care ("Ocare" in the title) or social security?

Ya well, these are the consequences of privatization and lobby power.

How can you deal with it? Work harder, work more, save more, produce more kids and hope they will take care of you when you're old. There is nothing else you can do.

I'm not flippant about it, but that is simply how it is. Each man/woman/family on their own and for themselves.

Here people are already working 2 to 3 part time jobs to pay the bills, and only part time because with Ocare there will be on more full time jobs. Employers can't pay for that and keep their biz afloat.
So were is this work more coming from?
And save more working several part time jobs for less, making the cost to get to work 3 times higher?
How with such conditions would ANY person truly concerned about the welfare of the kids want to bring kids into this kind of world?

It looks like another Obamacare cover-up has been going on...

"Issa threatens subpoena this week over ObamaCare documents"

"...Issa claims the bonus program is being used to mask the first round of Medicare Advantage cuts in connection with the health care overhaul -- in order to win favor with seniors. He said in a recent letter that "the only plausible explanation" for the program is that it's being used as a "temporary bandage" to cover up cuts, "realizing the political danger" of those cuts in an election year.

The program in question is called a "demonstration" project. But Issa's office complains the project is far more sweeping than a run-of-the-mill test program, and conveniently lasts until 2014.

The congressman further says the effects of ObamaCare's $200 billion in Medicare Advantage cuts over the next decade would have been felt starting this week -- if not for the bonus payments. Thanks to them, he wrote in an August letter, the project offsets 71 percent of the cuts this year. "

Why else would they delay the cuts if not for the fact that it would kill Obama's re-election chances?

If you can afford to send troops into more than 50 countries since WW2, you can afford a decent public health system. Physician heal thyself. conversing

The key word being "decent." Obamacare looks nothing like any working national plan out there. It's a living, breathing, underfunded disaster.

That's the problem.

I would have no problem with a public health system if it works. I've talked to "physicians" on both sides of the subject and we've discussed the similarities and differences at length. Obamacare doesn't begin to address some of the elements included in national plans - ELEMENTS THAT MAKE THEM SUCESSFUL.

The problem is that it's destined to fail - and by the time people figure it out, it will be too late.

Welfare government’s single largest budget item in FY 2011 at approx. $1.03 trillion

Medicaid and Medicare Enrollees Now Outnumber Full-Time Private Sector Workers

So just where is this invisible money to pay for your health care system to come from?

Protecting allies and trading partners made the US what they are financially. Without resources, markets and trade they'd wouldn't be a superpower.

With all the US did and had to do add health care for everyone and that would have broken the bank long ago. How many countries would be how much worse shape?
Not counting Obamanations screw ups of course!!
