The smell reminded me of my grans house and my aunt baking the cakes a month or so before xmas when I was a kid blues

If this works out I may get the contract for the family this year laugh

As for the coke, well, depends on the size of the piece of ham and the size of the roasting dish/tray, but generally a good 3/4 inches up the side of the ham.

Smear the ham with a mustard and brown sugar paste first, if it has fat on it you can score that. Cover it over with tin foil and bung it in the oven, baste it every 20/30 mins and for the last hour or so take the tin foil off and let that fat get nice 'n crispy and roasted wine

Gs....it does work.
But Ive started baking the ham from uncooked and not pre-boiling it.
Works out so much moister. Then my usual honey and mustard(and few secret ingredients) glaze for last half hour.

thumbs up

I always roast straight from raw too, I never tried par-boiling it, suppose it'd make the process a bit quicker, but, it'd be lacking in flavour.
