I don't kill them if I can help it TBH. I use a pint glass and capture them in it and throw them out the window. They don't react to the glass (probably can't see the glass).

nope, the attic is converted and they were in the front eaves over a room thats very rarely used. i didnt hear them because my reptiles are in the same corner and there are timers for their lights and heatmats as well as thermostats so theres always some kind of buzzing/clicking/ticking from that corner anyway.
its happened before and we had to get someone out to get rid of it but he left us with a can of stuff that you spray onto the nest and it makes them leave but doesnt kill them. had to wait 3 days before we could take out the nest and it went into the brown bin cause its pretty much made of chewed up paper
