Goto Radio Ulster and listen to the Nolan show from 9.30am onwards. It'll be on a pod cast within the new two hours. They talked about the same thing.

His choice not to wear it. What I want to know is did James sign the shirt for the poppy appeal after like the rest of his team mates.

having respect for people who died in wars isnt exactly harming anyone..

there is far worse atrocities taking place as we speak on this planet against humanity maybe people should concentrate on those instead of a bloody poppy wearer.

hate getting involved in these threads but here goes,

mc Clean obviously made a decision based on his principles, but those principles dont stop him putting fifty thousands pound notes with the queens head on them in his pocket every week. the wearing of a poppy seem like a small show of support to thousands of people who pay to support him every week, and a small symbol of gatitude to a country that is providing him with a very good living.

I know he signed his own shirt. I listened to the debate this morning on Radio Ulster. What no one can tell me is if he signed the team shirt. Thats all I asked.

I don't think he should have worn it if he didn't want to, after all it's not compulsory!

If he had worn it it might not have gone down well in his home town, he's a young lad and nobody would want to put him in that position would they?

On that note, back in the eighties David O'Leary got a death threat from a small republican group after he wore a poppy publicly when he was manager of (can't remember the club).
