chris27292729: Obviously she has done it before, I could of asked her,if ever caught before, and if her answer was yes,i would of tell her, Great, shall we meet,so you can give me some lessons???
Good point Chris that she may have done it before. She knew how to use her body to hide what she was doing but unfortunately for her, I was at an angle I could see through the shopping cart. If the shopping cart was full to capacity I never would have seen it.
Another form of stealing are the people with a card for food stamps. They are dressed to the nines with fur coats, jewelry, fancy shoes and then they go out to their Cadillac or other high end car. They buy roasts, shrimp, lobster, all kinds of expensive food. I know they are allowed to buy anything that the food stamp card allows but you can't tell me that they are skimming the government with their food stamps.
This brings to mind a situation we had here in downtown Toronto a number of years ago. The downtown core of Toronto is a very busy place and a woman known as the shaky lady would plant herself on the sidewalk begging for money. She dressed the part of a beggar and collected approximately $2,500/day. She would sit there and shake...people felt sorry for her and the location was prime. She was spotted being picked up by her two well dressed sons in a brand new car. It was later discovered that she was living a life of luxury.

On the flip side I happen to of run into a old high school acquaintance that told me a story of how she was getting that food assistance and I think unemployment as well. So she got confronted and they had her pay it all back. It had added up so they had put some kind of court order on her as well. I think she had learned her lesson but I was surprised she spoke about it so openly. It is good to know that not everyone gets away with it. Though I was raised to reject any type of assistance or even the idea was put in my head that it was not the way to be,,,I do realize that there are people in circumstances that really are grateful for that help.

Holy smoleys! $2,500 a day tax free. That's why I won't give money to homeless people but I will buy them a dinner or some kind of food. I went to a specialty shop one day to buy a chicken. Outside the door was a big tall man, dirty, filthy clothes and a shopping cart with all his stuff. In addition to buying my chicken, I also bought him a chicken and a container of hot soup. I was prepared for him to say he didn't want it but instead wanted money but he didn't say that. He was surprised when I gave him the chicken and soup. I don't think I heard him say thank you but it didn't matter. I just wanted him to have food in his stomach cause it was a very cold night.

That has really become rampant here in this state I have noticed. I know they would not be out there every day if they were not making good money! It is a crazy world.
It wasn't you hiding from, She was hiding from the camera.

I think that if she seemed needy I might have some sympathy, Although you rich americans don't realise it some people in the world are starving. Maybe if she had some hungry children, the stores lay all these goods out in front of people inviting them to feed their hungry children. but as you say she appeared prosperous and able to afford to pay, a greedy person.

Last year a woman won the lottery. A year or so after she won it was found out that she was getting food stamps and she fought them not to take her food stamps away. When you think about it, winning the lotter isn't an income you got by working for it so I guess there was a legal way that she was able to keep the lottery money and the food stamp card. Now if that ain't a kick in the head I don't know what is

The need wasn't to buy the coffeecake cheaper. I think her need was to get away with what she was doing, therefore as you say, she was greedy.
What the heck is that about Tom "Although you rich americans don't realise it some people in the world are starving". I'll tell you the same thing I told CapNemo, it's not necessary to be sarcastic. This subject has nothing to do with rich Americans not realizing that there are poor people all over the world. Of course we know that. What the h'll do you think we're doing when we take food, water, madicine and shelter to countries that have had floods, tsnumais, all kinds of catastrophes.

Surely you jest. I hope so anyway, because if you think that there are not people living right this minute less than 10 minutes away wrapped in newspapers and so sleeping under the over pass then you have a very deluded idea of the reality of life in the USA. I see it ever time I go out. Even on trash day they migrate into the nicer areas like where I live and go through the garbage and then head back to the river or in some abandoned area. Always moving to a new place but not getting anywhere. And so though there may be that person that is greedy there are many that are very down and out, many times mentally ill anf they live on the streets and eat from garbage bins.
Rumple4skin: Isn't there something in the Bible about stealing bread
Luke 9:16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people.
montemonte: Why are you being sarcastic. You did it to me and to Venus. Not necessary fella.
I'm not being sarcastic to you by any means, nor do I intend to be. I say it like it is. With her, yes. She didn't think about what I wrote before typing that. No one here is qualified to tell others how to conduct themselves. I have no problem at all with either one of you, but don't think for a moment that I won't stand up and stand behind what I say. I don't sugar coat things just to get along with the masses. Best wishes to the both of you.

Desperation, greed and sometimes because they think they can get away with it...crazy, sad world really.

Epiphany day celebrated on a 6th of Jan.every Year. Because of the economic crisis, a bogus priest, blessed the house of my sister's this year, and maybe the whole day, collected a 2 months salary for an average worker.- Economic crisis makes people very inventive.
