I Was A God For A Little Bit

I was a loner and lived in my own head.
I was shy and did not make friends easy.
I thought no one could understand me.
I felt like I was so different than others.
I felt uncomfortable around people.
I was very antisocial and did not talk.
I ask Gaea to help me to be grounded.
I asked Ra to magnify my power.
I held my magic sword up high.
I waited for the lightning storm.
I became a great lightning rod.
I was empowered with great energy.
I felt the static electricity.
I was drunk with the awesome power.
I was zapped and charred to a crisp.

Where The Wildflowers Grow

On an old home place in the hills.
There are violets and daffodils.
The old home place burnt down.
Leaves now cover the ground.
It looks like an empty place.
Old cars in the back space.
The chimney is still there.
It is neglected without care.
No one lives there any more.
Kids come there to explore.
But once there was some folks.
A lady and a man who told jokes.
He had a still behind the barn.
She liked to crochet with yarn.
His dog would chase the cars.
She loved to look at the stars.
He dug the ground one day.
She planted roses that May.
The wind began to blow.

The Old Depot Shack On The Hill

Just an old shack depot on the hill.
My great grandfather made it a home.
I remember the card board walls.
Tracks were gone when I was there.
Gone was he when I turned two.
He worked for the rail road.
I guess that is how he got it.
I found where the tracks had been.
There was a storm cellar out back.
I remember the wood cook stove.
Fond memories of granny's cooking.
Granny's switches were not so fond.
Grandma taking care of her later.
Grandma's house just down the hill.
I could see granny's house from there.

The sleeping bear slept
in ignorance of the light
with mangy curs unkempt
while vampires ruled night.
My abomination was great
and magnified in power
while foxes moved freight
from defenseless flowers.
I was so daunted by dinero
hiding under my sombrero
that the treasured habanero
purchased my Jose Cuervo.
The thief took my gold;
