I was reading the thread about the fairy Godmother and it started me to thinking. It is hard to think with a damaged brain but the cells that are still working try to make up for the lost ones, lol.

Time is running short, Time is running thin
Now is the time to reflect on where we have been.
Some thoughts are good and some thoughts we regret.
But, if it weren't for all the times, we wouldn't be the same I bet.
We all make mistakes and some choices are good
But, would we really do it all over even if we could?
Let's just say , lets be proud of who we are
and be at peace with our God.
You never know who he'll choose
from what he has seen from abroad.

Here's a poem maybe you would like to share with them. I wrote this when I was younger. When I finally gave up drugs.
Free
I felt I had noone to go to,
I had no life,
I thought the only escape was my wrist
and a sharp knife.
I was wrong and you would be too!
There's something special in this world and this is you!
I was blinded by the light,
Doing drugs every night.
If you're in the spot where I used to be,
Do yourself a favor anf set yourself free.
I am happy now that I am free,
Since the killing drugs have let me be.
Do what the signs say "Just say no"!
Make yourself feel better, let the drugs go.

Beautiful poem, David. I loved what you had to say in it. I fight the insanity every day of my life. By going to the meeting we use the insanity against itself like a doctor would use snake venom as a antivenom to save a patient. :)

I had trouble accepting that there was no God.
I had trouble accepting that there was a God.
I asked for a sign from God to help me to understand.
I figured what could it hurt since I am only human.
I was watching and I saw this very large sign.
I was amazed after reading what was on the sign.
On it said, "I just hate stupid people, don't you?"
It totally shocked me; I didn't know what to do.
I tried to find out who had put up the sign.
I got a thousand more questions before I lose my mind.

The Daylight Can Not Remember

The daylight can not remember the darkness of night.
It only knows that something does not feel right.
The shadows are not dark enough to bring it to light.
The day dreams because the darkness was to bright.
The day tries to shake its rattled head in clouds.
It feels like it has been captured in shrouds.
It hides from the stars because they are too proud.
The day tries to comprehend but the night is to loud.
The day knows that it has to get up for the sun.
The sun grabs the day and together they both run.
The day can feel like the sun will be no fun.
The day is not always happy but sometimes stunned.
Daylight is sometimes blamed for the night's pain.
Daylight can join the clouds and make it rain.
The sun can be aware of day's attempt to refrain.
The sun can feel the hurt of lighting's gain.
The night laughs at the day's feeling of unrest.
The day knows that is has again failed a test.
But the day knows the night is not always blest.
