I would like to be able to have fun. But having fun involves feelings and emotions.

Feelings and emotions have been turned off for various reasons over the years and I want them back dammit. I deserve to be happy and be able to have fun.

I can identify with that Mike!

I've been forced to withdraw. When I try to make platonic friends with women they inevitable mistake it for more than that and then when they finally realize that that's all there it they are either hurt, or pissed, or both.

So trying to be platonic friends with women is extremely difficult if not impossible without it ending up hurting them. Especially if we share EMOTIONS!

So to avoid hurting woman I must necessarily pent up my emotions.

The only way out is to actually find a lover. And I would give ANYTHING to find that. But unfortunately, I haven't found it yet. So I'm forced to be a pent up emotionless robot.

Yes you do we all do, and have that need. But fun like anything differs for us all, I might be rolling on the floor in laughter and perhaps you might just smile. Or the other way around if you need a laugh go read my last post in the copy and paste thread. I hope it makes you laugh, you need a good one. wink

See the problem there is that I'm a naturally romantic man.

By that I don't mean that I go out of my way to do superficial romantic things. I mean, that I'm naturally romantic in everything I do. The way I talk, the way I look in a woman's eyes, they way I genuinely care for her and actually listen to what she says with interest and concern.

That's just who I am. I can't shut it off without trying to be something I'm not. Women who spend much time with think this means that I'm falling in love with them or that I am already in-love with them. And I usually do love them as a person. But that doesn't mean that I'm in-love with them.

The bottom line is that every women I have ever tried to be platonic friends with fell in love with me and was hurt when I didn't fall in love with her.

What else can I say. I'm simply going by my own history. It's not something I try to do. It's just the way it works out.

Well, gee, doesnt that end up being a kind of really dry impersonal relationship? I mean, even if it's platonic what's the point of being with another person if you can't look into her soul? dunno

Why would you want to be romantic with a platonic friend??

I have platonic male friendships and these friendships don't involve romance in any way, shape or form.

BTW while you are allowing these women to "fall in love with you" because of your mixed messages, you are taking up their valuable time. They could be looking for and perhaps finding someone who is able to return their love.

comfort hug

Becoming happy starts with yourself. No one can make you happy but you. Focus on the little things, thats where it starts. A great cup of coffee, a hillarious movie, a letter from a friend. Have you heard the saying "miserey loves company"? Its true and so is its opposite "Smile and the world smiles with you". When you find your happiness, you'll also find others attracted to your radiance.

Just my thoughts!

Ahh, good question!
Some topics are good for thought, while others are created to get forums going... They'll hit the WAAA button, then sit self-satisfied...
Then, we have the bibke pushers, and the "I'm so polite, and anyone with strong thoughts should shut-up" attitudes...rolling on the floor laughing

Really, hon. There are tons of reasons...star alignment, winter blues, winter bears, PMS, menopause, meanness....long list.

I understand this, and some folks are making forums crap.

However! (did I just negate the above?) hehehe

When we are stuck with the feelings, it goes better to go with them, and not fight... I feel when we are in such a state, we MUST purge it. Be it cry, laugh, write, or phyical stuff...But, it won't go away because it hurts...This you know, I'm sure=o)

I'm in a state lately, and get fed up with folks that cannot sustain those with long periods of dark. Might get some on 'em, hehehe.

I won't say, "smile!" or "chin up" and all that jazz. I will send light, and hope you find things to love you with. Nature elements are good, even if just the sounds.
