The passports issued in the European Union (incl. Sweden) come with a small biometric chip including your fingerprints and a digital photo of yourself. We got no choice if we want to have a passport.

Are you comfortable with that? Especially knowing you don't have a choice.

Every time you lose your wallet you're going to need new eyeballs and a finger transplant.

Of course not, but I like to travel outside the Nordic countries (where I only a driver license or other identification is required)!laugh

I'm only expecting this is just the first step, next will be our driver licenses. Who knows, will the microship be on our VISA cards in the future? They are already testing/researching biometric recognition in doors and as car kees.

Do you think your biometric data can only be of use to someone if you commit a crime?? Think again, dude!!

If you are happy with 24/7 government monitoring, I suppose you would find it funny alright!

I can be happy-go-lucky about 24/7 government monitoring - I like a government that sends a plane out to monitor the hurricanes, I like a government that monitors forest fires, that monitors corporations that send toxic fumes into the environment,...

I even like a 24 /7 government that monitors those working in the government.... shock -

obviously you don't think when your country's government does the monitoring - and it does - that it's funny. comfort
