As the season approaches....

What do you really think about "charitable causes"

...and is there one in particular you support??

Salvation Army.

It has the highest % of the moneys actually go where it was intended to. High 90%'s last I checked.

Plus I have found out from numerous people after the fact that the SA was there for them at some point when they needed a hand up but were to proud to ask friends or family.

It would take volumes to detail a portion of the good this organization has done.

I hope I don't sound insensitive but I think that a lot of charities take advantage at this time of the year and pressure others too much into giving just because its the time of the year.

We don't need a holiday for charities. It should done year round.

For me the biggest cause I support would be the poor families and children who don't get much of a christmas. To me christmas is all about children and the family.

I think it's because mainly tis the time of the year where people need more cheering up...heck...even if you don't like the holidays...just looking at some people go about it is sickening enough! lol...but it's important for the others...I think it's alright and I personally do the same all year.

:-)

Oh please do not get me wrong. Its great that we have charities and think of those who are less fortunate. I am all for charities.

Just that this time of the year I find some (NOT all) take advantage of the holidays and are overrated and will do anything to make others feel guilty and give in.

If I had a lot of money believe me I would be happy to give as much as I could. But there are other ways to give to charities other than money though. My son and I always go through his toys every year in the fall and the ones he dosn't play with we donate to salvation army. I also donate my clothes to the salvation army as well and books and all neccissities that I no longer use that I know others will take pride in and appreciate.
