If the Iraqi person is the citizen of Iraq,then shouldnt wait long,i guess.may be a couple of month after applying.tell the person to apply,and they will tell him how long he/she has to wait.------ This thread is Archived ------

The consulate department is the department which hold the responsibility to protect the interests of Iraq and Iraqi citizens abroad, and exerts its efforts to solve their cases and problems with the competent authorities in foreign countries, as well as, it is concerned with the Arabs and foreigners in Iraq, and follow up their cases and solve their problems with Iraqi formal concerned authorities.
The consulate department is also concerned with matters related to ratify Iraqi documents, certificates power of attorneys either those issued from Iraqi formal concerned authorities or those issued by concerned authorities abroad according to law.
In addition, it holds the responsibility to issue passports and prolong them for the Iraqi community abroad, as well as, follow up requests of granting Visa for Arabs and foreign nationals coming from our diplomatic missions abroad.
Furthermore, the consulate department grants visas to different Iraqi formal ministries and offices and their staff to travel abroad on formal missions.
