I just want to get other people's opinions on this. I got my final uni results last Thursday and I'm glad to say I'm finally a qualified Radiographer, I expected my parent's to be happy and at least a little bit proud, but they still don't seem satisfied. I don't get what they're expecting from me and it's put a dampener on my celebrating. Any advice on what to do?
Thank you :)

Your happiness should not be contingent on what your parents feel or think but it's hard to know your situation from one paragraph. We may have to discuss this further. Perhaps over dinner? laugh

No, seriouly. Well done and don't mind them. Some people have toxic parents and if you are one of those people you definitely need to start making your own life, maybe a long way from them.

Is it possible they have something else on their minds? something bothering them?. Are you sure it's the actual results you got that's the problem?

Think i'll try it :)

What sort of support did your parents show you last December? It could be related to that. They could be a bit small minded when it comes to things like that.

They've been worried about my results since I done the exams and they were worried that I'd have to repeat and all the extra cost and what not of going back to London for another year... Everything else seems fine with them, their routine's haven't changed, I just don't get it... I'd have been happy with a "Congratulations, well done" haha

prob best to start a bit of dialogue concerning these..

clear the air..ask them.

and remember u study and get a career and things for yourself not for others expectations of you ..you are your own person ..ur life is exciting and ahead of you and no matter what is expected..only u have to make you happy, only you have the ability to make you happy.

im sure your parents want you happy..you make you happy, then everyone gets what they expect.

Why not? Are you afraid of their reaction?

Look they might just have expected their only daughter to be doing something other than making radios for the rest of her life! But sure if that's what you want to do, do it!! You must at the end of the day do what you love to do!
By the way, what happened last December??

If its bothering you that much just say it to them. That's the only way you will find out. Maybe they are just the reserved type
