After firebombing many Japanese cities the American Government dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima (August 6th) and Nagasaki (August 9th)1945 - 68 years ago this week.

They murdered between 150,000 and 246,000 civilians. Some took weeks to die.

I was reading recently that the firebombings killed more people than the atomic weapons, the soldiers who fought the battles of Saipan etc were delighted with the bomb as they dreaded the thought of invading mainland Japan after the previous battles, yep it was over kill indeed.

It could have been ended without the mass murder of civilians. One of those bombs dropped on a deserted island would have sent the same message to all and sundry. But it's like when the Brits firebombed Dresden after the war was over and waited until all the first responders had rushed into the city from all over Germany to tend to the wounded before they carpet bombed it. No need for it. Just pure psychopathic bloodlust.

500,000 children under the age of 5 killed in Iraq due to UN sanctions.
They said it was 'worth it' to stop Saddam getting weapons of mass destruction (1996) then a few years later they lied and said he had WMD's and went in and killed another couple of million. Hold on, I think I see a pattern here....

No, Saddam wasn't phased. If anything it made him stronger. But almost 2 million Iraqi's died in ten years. Maybe it was to make Israel happy or maybe they really are just a bunch of psychopaths? Albright doesn't seem too phased by 500,000 dead children. That's a psychopath.

All they had to do was drop 1 in Tokyo Bay.

I remember the first gulf war after they Liberated Kuwait and Bush encouraged the Kurds to turn on the Iraqi army and promised they would back them to which they dident of course the Kurds got slaughterd, yep there's reason for anti Ameriacanism and there still isent peace there and there more divided than ever with tribal warfare, a sad state of affairs, I see the Russians wont allow any interference in Syria by the west and I think quite right as well, the Syrians have free health care and free education.

Hi there ,Allow me the liberty of introducing myself. It's Sgt xxx and i apologise for this singular act.I figured i needed to seize this opportunity as i came across your profile on this site and decided to write you.If truly you're interested in men,I'm new here and looking for commitment.Chances may be slim as i've checked the site out but there's always no harm in trying..I live a boring life before and now it is even worse here...it is war zone and it is like hell,I will like to know few things about you too if you don't mind ok? And don't forget to always pray for the troops and souls of Americans who lost their lives to the war.. If you drop me a line,I'll take it you're interested in talking too.Sorry again for whatever inconvenience...Nice day Sgt.xxx.

thought you might enjoy that!

If anyone other than the Yanks (or the Brits) did this it would be seen for what it was, a grotesque act of genocide. Instead we have to endure this 'but we had to do it to end the war' waffle.

On the contrary, if anyone else did it it would be examined but the Yanks bring out the usual knee-jerk anti-american response from Western liberals. They did have to do it to end the war.

I watched this documentary once and it exposes a good many of the lies told at Nurnberg. It's a ballbreaker at over 4 hrs and I don't think they get to Nurnberg for a couple of hours, I think. Well worth watching but don't tell anyone you did wink

MADDOG69: The Tipp/Galways man got ahead there...

"In 1946, the UK had more than 400,000 prisoners, many had been transferred from POW camps in the U.S. and Canada. Many of these were used as forced labour, as a form of "reparations"

Ok, fair point, I wasn't aware of that.
