equiya: Yes closure. plus the next person to come along may not want to get involved in one's 'unfinished business'.
one is still legally married being just separated and in some countries the spouse one is separated from has more rights than one's partner

Hiya neighbor wave That truly was worth saying three times laugh
And yes, being separated means they are still legally married giving more rights to the ex spouse and perhaps some unfinished business. dunno

Personally I have no time for the institution of marriage, it's ok for some who need that kind of reassurance, but I believe, what will be will be, regardless of matrimonial status.

It's my opinion that even though someone is separated (unless they are legally separated)it's pretty obvious they're still married.

I also believe that they shouldn't enter into another relationship until they do away with all the unfinished business in their married.there's also the chance that the separated people could always dump the person of the new relationship and reunite with their spouses.

That would suggest that the new relationship wasn't working. Also, how many people dump their partners in favour of another person, married, separated or not?

I'd have to do a head count to actually know for sure how many dumped their new partners to return to their other partners.

I beg to differ with what you say bod regarding the possiblibilty of the relationships not working. Not everyone needs a good reason to do some of the things they do.So lets just agree to disagree.

Maybe a cultural thing, I don't know of any. But I know quite a few who have left their wives in favour of a fresh relationship.

I was separated for about 3.5 years before the courts granted my divorce (just a few days actually)..........for me separation was the process towards divorce; it was never about returning to my ex or holding on to the married status.
