I always answer messages, or almost always, but that to me is politeness and respect. I do however always make clear I am only here for forums and poetry.
Can understand the frustration, but I don't think anyone 'has' to chat and message, and people have preferances. Would be the same in a nightclub, if you'd head over to others and would ask them to dance? Probably many who'd decline, but still they are in a dance club and might even dance.
Not sure what advice to give, but maybe to just be patient and to wait for that someone who will engage in contact? Love is not something one picks from a super market shelf, or at least not in my view.

I only ever say thank you, explain I am not here to date, and wish them well with the site.
I must say there are a lot of decent males here, as generally I get a thanks message back for having answered and all, and a respectful acceptance of my stance. Only 2 in all who behaved badly.
I'd for sure feel I'd be leading someone on if I'd handle my mail box differently, so I stick to my ways.

It is not their fault - it is instinct.
Money is an abstract, but it serves in modern society as the measure by which many females will evaluate a male. It is nature, but pulled into the abstract. Not the females fault, but just this society being totally messed up.
