abcWOMAN: To be a "happy" man OW; don't get married!
Women will only make you unhappy and miserable!
You'd better stay on your own and you won't get hurt either!
Just meant as a precaution!

That's not what I'm saying neither. I'm saying in a world of biased laws and profiteering pen-pushers, a world where women(and to a lesser extent men)are taught to follow every whim and impulse and to call it freedom of choice, then longterm co-habitation is a valid alternative to marriage. Don't sign your name to anything!

And marriage itself should be the sole preserve of men that do well with women in general. Only he can spark the level of emotion necessary to sustain her loyalty as she will not be loyal on principle in a world of dutiless ethics and individualism gone mad.

I don't think I would be willing to loose half of what I am going to have left to another possible divorce. Since I am responsible for our child myself. He just started college and the laws here make him an adult at 19 no support from DAD or any college. I will be paying for all this myself. Did I mention I was disabled and unable to work any longer. LOL Oh well good thing I will keep some of what I started with.doh

abcWOMAN: It seems like you're decades behind us in Scandinavia!

It'll always help if you're writing a prenumptial agreement before marriage. When you're in love and is about getting married, very few people will have a prenumptial agreement on their mind. When people sign prenumptial agreements here, the paper will be registered at the tax authorities. This means it's not up to a single judge to decide what's in the paper.

I wish you good luck!
Thanks for the good wishes it will be OK I have faith!!hug

abcWOMAN: I live in a Protestant country and the rest of the Nordic countries are pretty much the same, same religion, culture, history etc.

To be married or just living together it's not a big issue here. Living together and having mutual children it's not a big issue either. Half of all new-born children in Sweden have unmarried parents.

We also use the word "separated" when two unmarried people split from their mutual home.

Many people in this country have double last names. It's not a big issue if there are several surnames in a family. In a "modern" family here, there are many children, half siblings - a divorced mother moved together with a divorced father, and we have a big "new" happy family. It's not unusual for the man to take the woman's last name, when they get married. Or they combine two names two a double name. It has also become popular to apply for a totally new name, a name they made up together, when they get married.

I'm curious to find out if it's the same outside the Nordic countries.
People get divorced outside the Nordic countries too!
CS is full divorced/separated/widowed people.

Can you live together without being married in your country?
I know in Sweden a couple can live together without marriage which is called Samboo there but in my country its not good to live together without marriage in this case society and police can take hard actionprofessor
