The world is full of them. Dating sites don't work for me because I'm too remote. Meet them where you are - shops, work, restaurants.... anywhere basically. Talk to everyone and anyone. If you don't get lucky at least you will get to meet lots of people. One of the advantages of being on your own is you can go wherever you like and talk to anyone you like. Make the most of it.
I personally want those I care for and have responsibility for, to be happy. There has not been anything material I wanted to be given in a long long time (since childhood days). Every gift day that came along I was asked whether there was something I wanted, and I never could think of anything. But if I ended given something that felt thoughtful, I cherished that, not for the 'thing' I ended holding in my hands, but the gesture.
It is never about the 'things' but the care we give and receive, for me at least, and this lies in the small thoughtful gestures, any time of the year :)
