Popes for Saints? (13)

Isn't it their job to do good? Isn't that what they were elected for? And live in the luxurious Vatican while they're at it. And what good do they or did they actually do?

A saint, in my opinion is someone who puts themselves out to do an extraordinary amount of good that helps those in dire need, and they're not elected to do it or given the job to do it.

Someone who does very good work for those in dire straits in my book is a decent human being.

That's true but I don't think those Popes deserve sainthood. Or any Pope to be honest.

Just like state representitives and leaders they are put there with the sweet notion of leading in the best interest of those who put them there.Blind unquestioning faith seems to maintain this while the ablity of many to think does little to dislodge distructive positions of power.

In order to be made a saint a person has to have performed 2 recognised miracles, its not just because they were popes.

It seems to be causing you a lot of concern, maybe write to the Vatican and ask them about it.

Some people supposedly got healed from serious illnesses and these were miracles supposedly attributed to the popes. I'd love to see the doctors report and professional opinion on it, though lol wave

Yeah, good one maddog.

There's always an explanation even if it's not obvious. :)

Apparently the parting of the Red Sea was caused by a Tsunami. Makes sense to me!

On the medical thing though... there was a Grand Uncle of mine that was no hope for him really... he drank himself into oblivion. He was in a mental hospital tied to a chair with leather straps he was that far gone. And when he did recover the doctors said they were amazed they should have done a documentary on him. THey thought he would be forever mentally challenged.

Amazing things do happen. And sometimes they underestimate the power of the human body. And then it's attributed to outside things. I might believe in a Greater Force of God... but not to that extent. wave
