No!!! I automatically pay for dinner...why embarrass the girl, sound like I'm cheap in the process. Do that to the girl and I guarantee there'll be no second date. I wouldn't even do that to insure that there would be no second date.

It may be a little old fashioned but I like to have the gentleman pay on the first date. And I suppose if the expectation is that I pay or pay my share I lose a little respect for him. Of course this depends on the individual's ability to pay, and thereafter paying for him or my share really does not phase me at all.
