Hmmmm!!! am of the generation where a first date it is the man who pays..no thought of splitting costs or hoping they will pay..once more established then 50/50 or when further down the line and hooked they have the wallet and credit card

PRDreaming I am from the era when a gentleman always pays for the Dinner and you come along having paid for perhaps a lovely new Dress and bag to look great for him... old fashioned ? perhaps, the Bill and tipping would be totally up to the man. Later on down the line, I would pay for Cinema or buy him a nice Shirt, maybe watch, not mean !! but I think the man should pick up the tab for Dinner [evening ] Lunch is a different thing... just old fashioned manners.

Because a man dates a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does. Whereas, a woman dates a man expecting he will change, but she instinctively knows he won't, so she constantly tests him, sometimes creating conflict to make things interesting for her; amusing for him.

I had a date once where we met at an Italian restaurant and I offered to buy dinner but she said I have no money but ok only if you agree that I'll pay for the next one. I said sure so we had a nice meal. Never saw her again.
