Another favorite of mine is "The Profit" with Marcus Lemonis. He's a real life Billionaire who helps failing companies to be very successful for a percentage of the business.

Nidifugous: Anybody here watching the show? I think it is SO interesting !
American Greed is a favorite of mine. Now they Have American Greed(The fugitives). The Profit is interesting as well. I don't want to leave out Judge Judy,if I miss watching her after work my night just doesn't seem the same. (Did you know she is the highest paid person on T.V. A whopping $47,000,000.00 a year.)
I have been rather upset in watching that new reality show "I want to marry Prince Harry" or Harry or something. The premise is the prince's look alike is staged to make 24 eligible american females between the ages of 20 to 24 think it's the prince.
Now he is supposed to want to get a real date out of this in the "big reveal" at the end of the show. I am ashamed that this actually is airing on tv.
So if these women have said that they want honesty in a relationship that is based on a lie and that they are being made fools of..... just irks me. This is the lowest of the low in reality tv.
I used to work in criminal court in the 90's in Miami so I have seen a lot of "it is so outrageous it can't be true" trials. writers certainly don't have to look hard to find some excellent material for the shows.

My favorites are the episodes with the ponzy schemes.. heck, they're all good. The one that was on last night really got my goat though about those judges out in western PA that were invested in the juvenile detention facility where kids were sent for minor offenses in exchange for kick-backs. I think one kid died. These judges should have been put away for life, but that's another story. I hope that they at least disbarred them. This whole private prison thing sits really wrong with me.
I imagine AG is staged, but it's not meant to be a reality show, but a retelling of the kinds of crooks we got running around.
I'm still waiting for the crooks in the White House to be featured

The two Judges involved weren't beginners either they were both on the Bench for a long time. They had a lot of authority and more than just an apology was needed. Sometimes power corrupts or maybe I should say Greed corrupts. How about that financial adviser that killed the guy who won the lottery. Greed is a very powerful force and some people certainly take it to the wrong level. JMO

Oh yeah, the one about the Shakespeare guy... omg. Worse, he was a really nice guy. Paid peoples' mortgages and helped poor people and they just used him... and then she came along. If I ever won the lottery, I'd keep my mouth shut. You know the saying: No good deed goes unpunished. Did they ever get her boyfriend on conspiracy? I don't think they said, did they?

Oh yeah.. and that one Judge was so effin' arrogant. He said he helped the kids. The chutzpah of that guy was just beyond me. That level of arrogance often comes with positions of power. Judges aren't rich, but they have a lot of power and I imagine there are quite a few with a god complex out there.
I don't think he was her boyfriend, just a guy she paid to make two different phone calls to pretend he was Shakespeare. They never did say anymore about what or if he got charged with anything.

it is so true the idea of privatizing things that only the government should do - to save a buck - and at the cost of most things we hold dear.

the guy who won the lottery, she came into his life as a financial adviser - ends up he is buried under the cement slab in her boyfriend's back yard and the $600,000 is no where to be found.

True enough and then we end up spending even more money.

There's a lot of conflict of interest in existance when a judge can very easily invest in a company like Corrections Corporation of America Symbol (CXW) If they want to keep it quiet they can and probably do trade stock in their wife or kids name. This way the more people they put behind bars the more profit the Co makes and the stock price goes up. This way a judge can have a direct influence on their "investment".

It pays to keep in mind that almost all judges were lawyers at one time.
I worked in the criminal courts when the FBI did the sting on the judges etc in operation courtbroom back in the 90s - they have put a lot of internal controls and watchdogs in place since then. But there is always those who think they are above the laws.
and it is true, I believe that there is a lot of grey area in the law too.

And no i did not get caught up in it - although some of the judges I worked for got caught, convicted and went to prison. Over the years so did some of the clerks. For years after I was still annoyed at the FBI never giving a debriefing for us when it was all over.
