Hi dedovix....i think that is the honest answer that applies to most people (if they are honest!!)....not many will admit it though.....i know a group of people living in a beautiful town beside a lake near me who went absolutely ballistic a few year's ago because the local council gave a house worth about 450k to a family of travellers in the middle of their road......they said it would bring down the values of their properties....
can happen...But it's not about adresse, accent.....its about personality. Personaly I can say somebody is snob ( up nose ) after 5 min that i talked to them ( face to face )
In response to: Do you judge what class a person is by their address, their accent or even by the names they give their children?
I am not sure? Snobbery to me, means that one person thinks that they are better than another.
It must be a European or British kind of thing. and of course.... here we go again,..... (as I reluctantly climb upon my soap box, clear my throat and launch into the much dreaded discussion of how American is soooooooooooo much different culturally than in other parts of the world)....
in America a person can come from humble beginnings and rise to live at for example, the white house, or can they can come from a fine home and rich family and plummet into the gutter (insert example here)....

Hi jean....i think you are so right...... Personally i think that of all the countries in the world Britain is the birthplace of snobbery.....all the aristocratic families there consider themselves to be way superior to most people....the fact that their titles and wealth were acquired through accidents of birth and not by their own personal endeavours does not alter their opinions of themselves.....but it is people's attitude towards them that keeps them in that elevated position....look for instance at all america going wild over a visit from two members of the royal family??....
