peachmelba: I believe in freedom of speech but think we are going to hold a referedem in Ireland as one of the Irish newsepaper s was threatened to be sued as it was seen to be highly offensive to the Muslems with the way their prophet was depicted,

So I do think its a good idea to have a referedment on this as we have mixed nationalities and religions in Ireland to .
Of course the actions of those terrorists were not justified and never will be.

The Blasphemy law was slipped in and will probably now be tested in a court of law. Crazy! doh

The sanctions by "creating hatred" laws are going to be tested too in some countries, and this is partially subjective.

Now the free speech exists under surveillance.

I was saying that the Muslem leader in Ireland was saying it is blasphemes what the terrorists are doing in the name of their prophet ,he said Islam is a religion of spirituality and condoned what these terrorists are doing.

That's what it's all about communities coming together,

The dangerous people are the persuaders too that put in their own agenda on Islam religion and insert their values then they try to radicalise the Muslems youth with their poison,

There is no schedule for it and doubtful any religious order would be quick to support it or push it on to the agenda. They like to stay the judge and jury on what's blasphemous and let the state be the executioner.

Thanks Mauss, I thought I'd missed the bit on a referendum...and would have been very surprised if there had been one called.
