I'd pretty much go with your definition with additional note that it's two-way. You’re partner basically feels precisely the same way about you. When two people are comfortable and secure in each other's love they are soulmates. It's a feeling that it was "meant to be". That doesn't mean that it was exclusively meant to be, it just means that it's meant to be. I don't believe that everyone has one particular "soulmate". If that were the case there would be a lot of unmatched people because the population simply isn't 50/50 male/female. Moreover, what about when children and young people die? Does that mean that someone's soulmate died? Well, in a way it does, but in other way it doesn't because there are others out there who can be their potential soulmate.
I only wish I could find mine before I die, and I'm sure she's wishing she could find me too.

"Soulmate"...just another platitude when it comes to dating. There is no such thing. All I know is guys who treat women like crap get all the woman's attention, while a decent guy who would like to be a "soulmate" to a woman gets the boot. Any woman disagree with that? I would love to hear it. Sorry, but it has been a tough night.

well i would think a soul mate would be someone you connect straight away with, someone who sort of knows what your thinking, someone you enjoy spending every waking minute with and of course you have to make each other feel special.

i agree with you . a soulmate will take you no matter what you have or dont have and will love you know matter what . when you find your soul mate you will know by the way you feel in side . when you connect heart and soul . when your soulmate can touch you and send chills up your spine and you always feel their preseance even if their not there with you at the time.

what is your ideal soul mate like and how do you picture them?
for me, well, it's someone that respects my boundaries and knows when i am uncomfortable without me saying a word, knowing my heart even if i don't tell them what i feel, who will stand beside me through thick and thin...i would be comfortable in his arms and never want to leave.
