We single guys and girls often wonder if we met the person we were meant to be with but we did not pursue the opportunity. We just kind of drifted in and out of relationships but always thought of that one that got away. Is there such a thing as destiny or are we just here to procreate and then perish?

I don't even think about relationships not pursued.

The relationships I have had are for more valuable to me,

and thoughts of them overshadow any wondering, or imaginings

of people unknown.

Same dilemma as with the road not taken; you come to the proverbial fork in the road, what do you do? Take the road or take the fork, bring it home, clean it and frame it as testimony to another failed decision...laugh

I never drifted in and out of relationships, that never appealed to me.

If a relationship didn't get off the ground or the other person had no interest, I don't dwell on it - if something isn't mutual, I don't see any sense in pursuing it.

I talked to my partner and tried to work on a relationship as long as I was with him - if it ended, there was a reason for it and no way back.

I choose to live in the now and look positively towards the future and not live in the past and can say that my past long-term relationships have been good.

I'll go with procreate and perish. In the interim, we imagine all kinds of reasons for being on the planet, but in the end, we die and that's it. The notion that the grass is greener on the other side is a myth. Thinking about what you may be missing out on shuts down all opportunities in the here and now. Just m.o.
