TheRedSquirrel87: Don't you think he looks/sounds a lot like you?
I'm not saying you'd do that, I'm not even saying you're spoilt. But it is this same warrantless depression that we accept in our midst without batting an eyelid. No motivation? Feeling guilty? Isolated? Welcome to CS!
One of my dirty secrets is that I've got a wager on with Bet365 for either Track or Pedro to enter a shopping mall with a kalashnikov and 500 rounds of ammunition.

You make me laugh so loud Obs, I am curling down to my knee..lol
Now I don't know what motives you are trying to imply on accusing me of being a lot like him. You don't know me yet, obviously Obs, inspite of the many discussions about life that we have done. This brings me to ask you, have you any sense of knowing who is who and what do we stand for? If you read my second post, I have explained in detail how I raised my children and what an asset they are, but of course you don't have to believe it. Having said that, at least it would come across your mind that people who make judgment as this sometimes are consistently qualified to know that they are different from whom they are judging or no one will ever learn.
Unless of course, you believe strongly on the effects of hypocrisy.
Anyways, Obs, no I am not like them. I am not rich and even if I were, I would have done exactly how my parents raised me of which I have done and my children are doing the same thing.

Track16: Do you really think that of me or Pedro Lindsy?
Oh no I didn't mean to make you feel like that at all Track, my apologies if I made you feel that way. But I am going back to the thumbs up and my bad. Of course not Track. You know I will never think of you that way and neither is Pedro.
Why he even think of that is beyond me.
Take care Track. Peace, okay? I do hope we all have a good New Year.
lindsyjones: How are you What? I like your beautiful picture. Anyways, all I care at this time is for them to pay their debt to society and do time as everyone else.
The stupid judge who scaled the verdict is at fault, too. Do you agree?
Yes. I agree. So much of our society is held together by the messages we send out to each other as a collective. When you are excessively lenient on criminals, you are inadvertently telling others it's ok because you will only get a wrist slap. I know people argue that jail does nothing to "cure" criminals, but leniency rarely does either. If people were AFRAID of the CONSEQUENCES they are far less apt to commit the crime. Unfortunately these days there are too few consequences

Exactly What, it's for preventive measures. Such as "crime does not pay".
We are responsible and accountable for our debts in society.
Another issue I can see as violated is, equality before the law. This judgment given to them is slap to what equality is.
If the parents are PROVEN to be truly culpable (remember Ma Parker?) then they should be tried as such. But if culpability cannot be, without doubt, be proven, then the weight of the law should fall upon the defendant and NOT his/her parents, siblings, etc.

I would say that since the mother helped her son to flee to Mexico...she is abetting a criminal...so she is in fact a problem...

She appears to be culpable of hindrance or obstruction of justice or both (both punishable by jail-time) but not of abetting. For the former, she should be held to account. The young man, although only sixteen at the time, in my opinion, should have been tried as an adult (although, at only 16 and with a BAC of .24 an intoxication defense would no doubt be evoked in adult court...but I am too unfamiliar with US law to know if intoxicated driving causing death is basic or specific intent and whether or not, in this case I assume, voluntary intoxication would hold as a defense). But yes, I do see a miscarriage here.

I stand to win £200(out of a £190 bet).
