I didn't see anything about this here and usually when there is something like this I often see a thread. I noticed that it has been kept pretty quiet in the media in fact I had not heard about it till a friend that listens to AM Radio told me. Evidently the history goes back pretty far on this but either way I am just wondering what some other people think about it. I guess I should not be too surprised as Oregon seems to be a place where some pretty extreme groups in the past (religious and/or political) seem to pop up from time to time in the less populated or obscure parts of this state and make their "stand" or whatever the correct label is. Here is a couple of links if anyone is curious.
I think the Hammonds had every right to protect their land from a wild fire, however They screwed up because they bit off more than they could chew or they didn't have the experience, the equipment or manpower to manage a controlled burn. As a result the fire got out of their control and destroyed a lot of trees. I think a charge of Arson is a little extreme being it was basically an accident like making a camp fire when there's too much wind and embers get blown away.
The Bundys are just self rightious rabble rousers who hate the government and IMO they are breaking the law and should be arrested. This will not end well I predict.
