Hi Lily - good that you posted this as a reminder to us all. I stopped using this board for a little while cos I was getting some really nasty mail from someone on here who I had never heard of nor had I spoken to - but it really scared me. The odd times that I have replied to messages from people who dont usually post on the forum have been very disappointing because the first thing they have asked is " do you have a web cam?" like I am stupid and cant suss out weirdos - apologies for the serious people who use webcams for the right reasons but many out there dont. We should all be careful with info that we give out and err on the untrusting side if necessary.
Lily this is just the sort of thing parents should be made aware of, even some adults may need to be more careful.
I did not have a web cam till about a year ago and have not used it in ages! My computer has always been in the living room so I was always around when my children were on it. You just can't be too careful.
I hope the police catch the sicko doing this, too many things are not reported to the police.
