This thread is about Gentiles in The Bible, like...

The Egyptian king who killed the greatest king of the Jews, Josiah; because Josiah didn't believe the Egyptian was speaking from the mouth of God.

After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Charchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah?

I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.

His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

jono7: I like your question,

and add to it...

how come so many folks look outward and upward for something that is within?

..something that is within only would be a rather anthropocentric view yet there is much more than just "within".

rizlared: Nope no questions on this, but what about chapter 12 of the Haynes Workshop manual of the internal combustion engine, now that really was an eye opener

Is it in english?

Once I was working for some people that had some heavy machinery and they got a new imported machine and the maintenance manual was in English, Chinese and Polish or so grin and the poor guy who was going to take care of that machine could hardly read some Spanish laugh

I won't cit any book, because I'm not a priest or theologian and that would be the silly talks.
But in my oppinion you should be a 100 percent honest to your self: What you do or say.
Otherwise - "Why do i do this, if I don't believe it?"

If you don't have anything to say on the topic of Gentiles in The Bible...

Why do you do this?

This thread isn't about The Book of Acts.

It seems like a bunch of folks wanna talk about God and/or The Bible, and don't know enough about this topic to discuss it.

In a few minutes, try looking for a thread by me dedicated to just talking about God.

Wrong.

When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

Please try responding on my new thread, "Let's Talk About God;" and leave this thread to the topic I began.

Okay I'll tell you some example from my life:

My father is not religious, he doesn't even believe in God. He was raised to dislain weak people. It wasn't his parents folt his parents are ferry religious people. Soviet Union rased him.

In his mind a good person is equal to a weak person.

In his eyes - I'm nothing. But I've respected him, though the way of life he leads is far away from a way that I want to lead. But I respect him because he's my father, and I sometimes fear of him. It's a human nature to respect a person who's stronger than you.

Even in nature - it's obvious: Individuals respect their leaders even though they don't love the, but because they are afraid of them. That's way - they are the leaders.

But this topic is not about the naure, but about God.

One day, I don't remember what did he say, but I replyed: "Why shoud I listen to you?"

He sayed that I should respect him because he's my father.

I asked: "Why?" Not because I didn't know why I believe that Ihave to respect my parent, but I wanted to know if he knows why is that so important to respect parents. He doesn't always show or say that.

He told me, that it is even writen in the bible. I sayed okay, because It's hard for me to think logically, when I'm under an affection of any kind of emotion.

Only the emotion passed, I realised that this a**hole triscked me - he didn't told me that it's writen in The Bible because he believed it, but he wanted to affect me using things that are sacret to me. It's bad, It's a really bad thing when you use other people to reach your goals. Without even really caring about theyr feelings.

Yes Love is the feeling, I understand now, that I'm no different. The intentions maybe - good but the measures are wrong, compleately wrong.

People speculate feeling, every where: Street, work, in family, even in church. I think I should mean what I say, for exaple: (...)"Auswaschbar den meisten Textilien/Washes out of most textiles/Lavable facilement sur la pupart des tissusus/Lavable de casi todos los tejidos/Inchoro facilente lavable dalla maggior parte dei tessuti"(...) and so on.
Now imagine that you didn't understand even aword of it, but you live with this info it's natural for you how to use it even reading instructions, because those are not only words for you it's in your blod - you used it so often that it beome a part of your identity. It's not only your profession, but it's your passion, it's your life, it's your everything.
And there's a guy or gal who understands all the whriten languages, but this is are only some info that he or she can use, use and forget. Maybe once, maybe twice, few times.
So which person really understands the meaning of those words. I mean - the actual meaning of those words? A specialist of the subject or a specialist of all those languages? What's more inmportant a word or a spirit?
