I would prefer for the man to make the initial contact. I might flirt with my eyes or my smile - but that would be it. The man has to make the initial contact with me. I guess that is because in some ways I am a traditionalist and he has to take the greater risk. Lorraine.
I like how more and more woman are making the first contact if they are interested.
It is also great to see more women doing the asking in marriage proposals as well.
Society is changing..not just a guy thing anymore. i think balance on both sides in regards to contacting is a good thing.

If I am interested in a man, of course I would approach him....but only if I get the "feeling" that he's into me too.......
I am a pretty good judge of character and also, my gut instincts usually make me do crazy things like that......

I think its a two way street and both should make the move.
I feel it depends on who I am with or meet and how I sense their feelings around me. If I am sure that the feeling is mutual I might break the ice and initiate something but if I am not completly sure and having been rejected and hurt before I will wait till the other makes the first move.

I am generally shy and i would send flowers or a note, but as for asking someone on a date, never have 
I hate those "introductory" letters....
I think i really mostly made first contact with men i've met here on the forums...and usually its based on something they may have said in their response....takes the pressure off i suppose...

I like the women to make first contact..its a rejection thing I guess..
i will make initial contact sometimes but have no problem with a guy approaching me first
