I'm sorry, yubba! But "I" have to side with Mercedes, on this one! 
You see, I went back and read your post! And you OPEN your statement with "Women always . . .". In English, if you just say "women", with NO qualifiers, it is ASSUMED you mean ALL women! If you DON'T intend to speak CONCERNING "ALL" women, it is accepted policy that you INCLUDE some qualifier/adjective (such as "many", "some", or some other such qualifier) to declare that you're speaking ONLY of a specific group, and NOT the GROUP (in THIS case - "women", plural), in general! YOU failed to DO that! So, under general usage convention of the English language, YOU SAID "all" women! If you WISH to say what you MEAN, I would advise you LEARN the proper usage and general rules of the English language!

You're correct, Mercedes! (see my prior post) But it might do your "image" (on these posts/CS) some "good", if you were to "PLAY" just A TAD "nicer"!
I can hear you saying "Why don't "I" take my OWN advice?" And THAT'S a valid point! But, you see, "I" don't care how anybody perceives me! (Well, I DO, but NOT because of my CONFORMITY to "societal norms".) I AM, the way I am! And, at THIS late date, I kinda DOUBT that's gonna change, TOO much! SOME (MY qualifier) people can deal with that! And will accept my "IRREVERENCE", because "I" have something BESIDES "chit-chat" to say! And THEY find THAT interesting! So they'll tolerate my "bluster". And, since it's ONLY those types of people that "I" AM interested in meeting, and talking too, I'M free to act ANY WAY "I" want to. To ME, YOUR approval, OR disapproval, matter NOT AT ALL! I REALLY don't care! It's YOUR problem! To MY way of "thinking", it's YOU who are taking YOURSELF out of the possibly INTERESTING option of knowing ME! I'm NOT saying that I'm the ONLY "interesting" person here. now that i am getting older, i've realized i'm neither superwoman, or able to lift that hug friggin rock in the front yard........so i am able to ask for help now. there was a time when i wouldn't.
i've also come to understand, that while i believe intellectually that it is better to give...i kind of like getting too....
all we really have is time....and my preference is to share with others.

So, in the spirit of "SHARING", I'm going to explain MY philosophy (which SOME of the others have read, already), for you to consider as a "modus operandi".

Let_Us: I RESPECTFULLY disagree! EVERY man and/or woman IS an island! I have NO problem with your ASSERTION that "going it" together CAN BE the "more" pleasurable "option"! But it can ALSO be MORE of a "pain" (in the you know where)! But, even when you're "together", you're ESSENTIALLY alone! Because MOST (NOT all) of your decisions are made, by YOU, alone! That's just a BASIC "fact of life"! The TRICK sems to be FINDING that person whose willing to have/let/allow decisions to be "COMMUNITY property"! And SUCH PEOPLE are (dare I say) HARD to find!

I KNOW the quote! I just DON'T happen to AGREE with it! But MY thoughts run THIS way. We're BORN alone! (Well, MOST of us, anyway!) And we DIE alone! (AGAIN, MOST of us, anyway.) And, when we go to sleep at night (or WHENEVER you go to sleep) WE SLEEP/DREAM "alone! (Whether there's somebody [or 5] in the bed with you, or NOT!) And MOST of our acts, decisions, and assorted and sundry OTHER moments of life/living are done/lived alone! And, to get REAL basic, there's NOBODY BUT "YOU" inside your skull! Sure! You MAY share part of your PHYSICAL self/time in the company of someone else's PHYSICAL "self"! But that PHYSICAL "self" - IS NOT "you"! "You" live "ALONE"! INSIDE your skull! To say you're NOT alone, is to FAIL at recognizing the OBVIOUS!
You're WELCOME to "believe" whatever YOU want! But "belief" DOESN'T change THE FACT(S)!

But, even though it IS/WAS "poetry", I didn't share it WITH you, as a "poem"! But as a PHILOSOPHY of life/living! But I DO try to present "lessons" in an ENTERTAINING manner, whenever possible!

Alright. I'll consider my use of capitals (et al), if you can offer me ANOTHER way/method of emphasizing a point, in written communication. It's EASY to do, when you're speaking. And "emphasis" CAN change the whole meaning/inflection of a statement. So emphasis CAN BE an important element in any attempt to "communicate". Which is the whole point of any discussion, written or spoken.
And I THINK you misapprehend me! I'm HAPPY to hear any side, of any debate! And I'm not concerned about whether you're intent is to sway my opinion, or not. I ALREADY think TOO much! I NEED stuff to think about! But NOBODY will ever change MY opinion, in THIS way! I'll listen to anybody's assertion. Then I'll think about it. AND, if I find validity in the argument, I'll modify my own beliefs, accordingly. But it's ME changing my mind! (And I DO do that, occasionally.) NOT anybody else! Because something has brought something unconsidered to my attention! So "I" LIKE debate! I think it's useful! And, although I doubt whether anybody here will believe this, MY ego ISN'T wrapped up in being right! (Certainly, I'll admit that I get EXASPERATED, sometimes. And I MAY get a little more sarcastic/contemptuous than I should allow myself to become.) MY main concern is to THINK, and PROVOKE OTHER PEOPLE to think (because "I" feel most people act and react, WITHOUT much, if ANY, thought), because I think the world I, YOU, WE live in, would be a better place, if people thought about what they were doing/thinking more. So, SOMETIMES, I'll even promote a view "I" DON'T personally hold, simply to provoke some reconsideration/thought about a topic. If you can tell me something that will get me to change my mind, "I" WANT to hear it! Now, I DO (also) admit to being "opinionated". Certainly! But I contend that WE ALL are! You, me, NOBODY would be able to function in this world, if they didn't hold an opinion, on most things!
But, as far as my chosen name, on this site, I think I can see where your mind went, to make that statement. And I have no problem with that. But the name WAS chosen, because it's the title of one of the poems I included in my profile. (Go read the poem, if you haven't, and you'll have a little better insight, into MY soul. There's NOTHING I value MORE, in this life, than a my "friends"!) And because I DO wish to include others in my life. Not that I'm NOT willing and/or able to "go it alone"! I can, and have! But I've also learned that coming to a warm and welcoming home, at night, after a day of fighting off the infidels, has MANY things to recommend it, over winding my way back to a cold, dark, and empty house, to spend the hours alone, thinking too much. I'll admit to you all, that, sometimes, YOU are my refuge, from ME! Sometimes I DO need to "escape" from "life", for a minute, or an hour. And I appreciate that you folks let me come here, and do whatever crazy things I need to do, for those moments.
ANYWAY, folks! Take one down! and pass it around! And PRETTY SOON, we'll have drunk up ALL the beer in this damn place!
