Meat was never a problem at our home as we barely got any.
Fish, a herring or sausage, soup on Sunday with meatballs in it.
Mom let me make those little meatballs for the soup on Saturday. Big mistake as I "tested" some to make sure they were alright. It is called quality control lol
There was so much fat driving on the soup that it was safe to eat on Sundays.even in the summer time
We had no refrigerator so soup and gravy had so much fat on top you could skate on it no joke
