wwry13newton, Iowa USA44 Threads 568 Postsi heard lots of different views on this. do you trust until you have a reason to not trust them? or do you think trust should be gained? i trust until i have a reason not to. to me if you dont trust then when you meet someone it is like judging. but that is just what i think.

I tend to trust untel I have reason not to. However; I am gaurded with how much or what I trust. I can say my relationship exsperience in terms of male/female on more then a friendship level is limited partly because I think I trusted or beleave in what I wanted to beleave about my exhusband. Some lessons are learned the hard way. But that doesn't mean I can not trust another person again enough to have a "L" word relationship.

I would say (after being burned so many times) I try to give them the benifit of a doubt. I wouldn't say I *trust* anyone at first.
I take them on their word but keep my eyes opened.
So for me, I suppose TRUE trust must be earned.
