If you go from Penistone towards Woodhead you can leave the TPT, head towards Langsett and go around Langsett reservoir. This route takes you past a place called North America...I kid you not.....
Maybe next summer, I think my long trecks are finished for this year.

I'm going to call you Tigger from now on as all you do is bounce in and out of threads causing as much havoc as you can.
I don't really mind him hanging around the place; I can put up with him as long as he doesn't do anything nasty on the carpet.

Harbottle: Sounds just like me, bodleing, except I'm not cycling alongside the Ashron Canal. There are a few disused railway tracks where I live that have been turned into cycle paths. I'm getting a bit braver about going on the road, but I avoid it if possible.
On one of my favourite disused railway tracks, the Mawddach Trail in Wales near Barmouth.

How romantic, bodleing. smile

I notice none of your bikes have mudguards, that seems to be the trend these days. I got them to fit mudguards to mine before I took it away from the shop. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

I have biked the Harlem Valley Rail Trail in NYS a few times. You can take a bicycle from NYC on a just over 2 hour train ride to Wassaic, NY then bike 20 miles north to the end in Copake Falls, NY where you will find a short walking trail to Bash Bish Falls in Massachusetts.

Sounds fantastic Karl.

I did a bit around CT a few years ago when I was working there, couldn't find many off-road tracks though.

That looks spectacular, Karlorado. There's nothing quite like that where I do my cycling.
