Pedro, check with your priest, the beatific vision (Heaven) is a moment of its own. It has no relation to this moment of space-time. Time is part of the universe and doesn't have anything to do with God. God is perfect, there is only one perfect so God can't change (which was perfect the now god or the previous god), so He is outside time.
Going sideways in time would not accomplish much. By the time you got to a time where so-and-so wasn't assassinated the "people" around you would most likely be lizard-like. Does anyone remember that short story by Philip Jose Farmer (I think--don't have the book anymore).
