RE: Its a mad mad mad mad..mess!

Agreed.
The Dimocrats don't pass taxes, they pass inflation, which is an ungraduated tax in disguise.
Hopefully, the text election will slow things down; but Trump will be no hero, I'm afraid. May not even be doable now. Civil war? Military officers are sworn to the Constitution not the President.

RE: Leaving the United States.

I'm afraid our American way of life these days comes from European influences, so I suggest you don't go there.
Nor can I suggest where to go. I used to like Thailand, but the king died.
No stability anywher I've been and those I haven't were and always have been worse.

RE: Well, California, ever be like to United States.

I don't understand the poll either. California is just like the U.S. You just take the other states and rotate them clockwise so the Easter liberal states are in the south. Easy.

RE: Where is our favourite Irishman?

Perhaps he had a final conflict with Stringy Bob, who is now gone and that's good. But stringy got what he wanted which was to drive Pedro out. Would Pedro have done better with Blogs than Forums. I think the OP can edit the Blog. I only tried a Forum once--no controls. I was going to suggest Pedro try Blogs; wish I had. Pedro was a nice guy.

RE: What attire would you like to see opposite-gender in?

You haven't heard that women dress for women? It's a competitive thing.

RE: bullies want you 2 feel bad

What a wimpy attempted insult. I guess the brows are from my Scot ancestry judging by men of the same name around here. Try mascara.

RE: psychological picture

Insufficient data given for any review of the man involved.. Your "my subjective opinion" is a giveaway, however, that what you are seeking is support for what you know is not an objective position.

RE: ideological differences

The saying is "love CONQUERS all." However, it's a bad idea unless the real differences are small. For example, Islamists and Christians can marry as long as they're not extreme in their beliefs and both agree to differ on major points. Doesn't mean such people can't get along in a society as long as neither is an extremist--Jihadists or Fundamentalist activists.

RE: Is Your President A Good Leader?

Hardly ever happens, but I have to disagree with you. In a republic the leaders are chosen to lead according to their character. In a democracy the elected are busy polling their constituents. The problem with the latter is that finding out what the right decision is is a full-time job, which is what the elected should be doing. "Democracies" are always dictatorships. The best example of a democracy is a lynch mob (ruled by demagogues).

RE: The tale of the serial thumbs downers

You guys make me wonder: Do the people who run CS care about the thumbs downs?
I wonder who's foolish enough to pay any attention to them.
I would like to know who's doing it; the people who run CS should be concerned. The perpetrator may be a hacker.

RE: Is Your President A Good Leader?

My ostensible President is Joe Biden. I call him Bidden.

RE: we are reaping the hard work of our ancestors imo

1. Constant international turmoil because WWII wasn't finished.
2. Other problems due to our own propaganda in WWII.
3. Leftist popularity from 2.
4. An awkward belief in the new science where theories come from math derived experimentally. The theories make no sense themselves. The Scientific Method has been violated and often math is substituted for experiment.
<I'm sure there are more.>

RE: truth is the biggest lie in this world

Since time is a dimension per Einstein, your premise is very wrong. Change is an illusion. Sadly in some cases, nothing really changes.

RE: What is ego in life?

Theories are supposed to be tested. So Einstein's theories have been and become science. But there's a step beyond that, and it's engineering. Look into the time relationship between us in this gravity well and the satellites we rely on for geopositioning. Time is merely a dimension.

RE: What is ego in life?

Actually, since time is merely a dimension, everything is quite permanent.

RE: Is Putin dead or still alive?

rasPutin supports Putin, nothing else. Russia will be better off without him when the time comes.

RE: Is Putin dead or still alive?

If there's actually some content to that speech, then I have never heard a worse translator.

RE: dreams at night each person has

There is deep sleep and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. We dream in REM which is the time the conscious is partially reconnected to the body. The mind tries to make sense of then sensations the stray feelings from the body it gets in the usual way of connecting recent and older memories. This leads to the construction of stories. Consider how this fits in with wet dreams.

RE: What is ego in life?

Perhaps Pedro meant to discuss "ego" as in egotist. You can't have no ego in that sense. And if you have no pride of self, you sill conduct yourself poorly.

RE: What do you think about public media censorship?

Instead of censoring specific output, which is questionable; we should be controlling the monopolistic companies that control the Media. We have anti-trust laws. They need to be enforced--especially against multi-nationals. Then qvis-custodet-custodes-ipsos doesn't enter into it, and our protection of Free Speech doesn't enter into it. The Founding Fathers never envisioned Goebbel's type propaganda.

RE: What is ego in life?

I should add, we have duplicate somewhat part of what the Subconscious mind does. For instance, computers are able to view a picture and pick out a football. That material is what one part of the brain passes to the conscious.

RE: What is ego in life?

"Ego" is Latin for "I." Freud's philosophy is ridiculous. The "I" IS the conscious. If they ever create a real AI, which will bring science into the matter, you'll see how it works.

RE: What do you think about public media censorship?

The real censorship is being carried out by the Media. It's a whole new ballgame. The other Weapon of Mass Destruction in WWII was Goebbel's propaganda machine, and now it has a life of its own--except that it's owned.
Nor should a foreign-owned Press be protected by our Constitution.

RE: What do you think about public media censorship?

You forget how hard it is to get bad laws rolled back. Some idiotic taxes got stopped in California a decade ago or so, but I can remember no other recent change in that direction. Only violent cancellation of a government can do it, I'm afraid. Not something I would look forward to, BTW.

RE: What do you think about public media censorship?

Anything done would be against public opinion as dictated by the mercenary Media.

RE: A school of thought,

If the school of thought rules the Media or the academics who often rule them, it can do immense damage.

RE: A school of thought,

aka Group Think.

RE: Birds of a feather, flock together

Less I give a false impression, The marriages other than male-female do not exist.

RE: Birds of a feather, flock together

You've never met friends with opposite opinions on significant things? Friendships have to do with mutual respect. Partnerships have to do with more. But even then there's a limit. One hopes the limit is less in male-female marriage--but given the current divorce rate...

RE: contradiction

Most people try to be honest. The truth is that not being honest leads to internal inconsistency, which is what makes us unhappy. I think you have become confused in your beliefs.
