The saying is "love CONQUERS all." However, it's a bad idea unless the real differences are small. For example, Islamists and Christians can marry as long as they're not extreme in their beliefs and both agree to differ on major points. Doesn't mean such people can't get along in a society as long as neither is an extremist--Jihadists or Fundamentalist activists.
Hardly ever happens, but I have to disagree with you. In a republic the leaders are chosen to lead according to their character. In a democracy the elected are busy polling their constituents. The problem with the latter is that finding out what the right decision is is a full-time job, which is what the elected should be doing. "Democracies" are always dictatorships. The best example of a democracy is a lynch mob (ruled by demagogues).

Theories are supposed to be tested. So Einstein's theories have been and become science. But there's a step beyond that, and it's engineering. Look into the time relationship between us in this gravity well and the satellites we rely on for geopositioning. Time is merely a dimension.
