That's a perfect example!!! Your perception of a lady would knock most Spanish women of the lady throne!! Especially in the south where people are very expressive and not shy of showing their emotions!!! We can and we are loud
We are loud when we are happy, when we are sad, when we laugh, when we cry, when we party
The one thing about it though is that everyone knows exactly how everyone feels to the great confusion of non Spanish people who think people are falling out or a bit drunk
In fact the word "evesdrop" does not exist in the Spanish language because Spanish people don't tiptoe around so nobody needs to evesdrop in order to hear what's going on. It's hilarious ...
The word lady doesn't really exist in Spanish.
Married women or women of a certain age are addressed as "Señora" which is the definition of an adult woman and which translates as Mrs.
Señorita for unmarried women or young women which translates as Miss
And Señor for men no matter their age.
In gatherings men and women are often addressed as Damas (Ladies) y Caballeros (gentlemen).
The definition of a Dama is "a distinguished woman, especially well educated and high social class".
Anybody outside of high social class calling themselves a "dama" would be called presumptuous and laughed at. Because the word speaks of ancestral lineage and not of attitude and behaviour ...

I can only speak for Mediterranean people , but our women are more passionate in the sense that they wouldn’t think twice about smashing the odd plate over their mans head if he were to be a little mischievous.I got your point. But it is kind of strange. a Lady is a Lady.
