I've had to lay off one of the maids but that's more down to a court order than the current economic situation.

Good for you. Probably this situation won't affect you at all. Having someone to do all the household chores is quite an indication of economic prosperity isn't it?

The petrol tank of my car seems to permanently indicate almost empty no matter how much money I spend putting petrol in it whereas before with half the investment it lasted at least twice as many kilometres wow
Ohhhh and gas and eletric bills! Horribly high in Spain!

And grocery shopping same amount of money no longer provides the same amount of essentials.

I'm glad I did the important home improvement works a few years back as now materials have trebbled if not quadrupled in price with months of waiting list while the manufacterers wait for deliveries.

For the rest, I downsized my lifestyle to 'simple' about 14 years ago and live in an area rich in healthy produce so I don't notice so much.

Will make sure I have a good stock of wood for my stove (and cooking if necessary) and non perishables in the cupboards for the winter ...

Selenite, I'm geared towards the same direction. The covid was a global game changer and bad for us the ordinary and common man. I've already chaged my lifestyle just to adapt.

I used to travel a lot but tightening up my belt for survival is a necessity and canceled all my scheduled trips but two. wave
