It would be nice to have a leader whose background isn't just finance and law because neither of these things create, both of these things manipulate the resources of others and there's enough of that with what a politician is. It would be nice to have a leader who made their own money in the real world as opposed to (mis)managing someone else's all the time.

Excuse me for interjecting but I think insular is a good word for the English too.
In Finland, I stay in Turku Abo, usually, and the younger Fins speak perfect English. With all the nuances understood, this doesn't happen in England with respect to other languages, we expect everyone to speak English.
And it is really the same with general outlook, the English expect everyone to have an English point of view.
Of course, the world isn't like that, so the English do sometimes miss other points of view. To get back to Finish languages this achievement is general to nearly all of Finland.
