Yes, Fahrenheit, pounds, gallons, feet, acres, miles per hour, all taught to us by... the British! Our standard voltage is 110 and many countries are using 220.
So far, candle power doesn't have a metric equivalent. Or does it?
I believe universally, TV's are sold in sizes listed by inches.
