I have been seperated from my husband for 5 years....Money has kept us from getting a divorce, and the fact that he left the country years ago! I have had no reason to get divorced yet, see...Im still the beneficiary if he happens to trip and fall off a mountain!!

I would of done my own also, but didn't want to take any chances with property, kids college tuition, alimony, debt he left behind, among other things that were involved.

I was able to avoid any of those issues by getting the mental pygmy to sign a Joinder. Too stupid to actually read what he was signing.

I'm still paying my exs debts. I was able to have a few bills turned to him...
In the pro se I did, I made the stipiulations I thought fair... I could have gotten much more, but needed to get out and fast. I still could have gotten more from him, but I just didn't want to deal with it. He was violent enough because he had to pay child support. And, I'm glad I chose the way I did. Turns out he an't be bothered with his kids at all... And, I don't have to deal with him, period.
He took all oney from banks... Left me with debt... but, better then left with him, lol.

Do you believe my ex tried to contest the divorce, then when he knew he couldn't force me to stay married to him, he didn't have a problem with my getting the kid, just fought to try to make me keep my married name? Now how wierd is that?

I'm a newbie and this is the first time I've ever joined an online group. Having just found the forums and read a few threads through, this doesn't seem to be a very nice place to be. How much of that is down to the seasoned regulars general lack of belief that life will bring them happiness and possibly a soulmate?
