Unfortunately, it is typically by his wealth, looks and occupation. Maybe what kind of car he has and how big his house is. *shrug* To me, there are more important things to measure a mans' worth, but not to society in general.
By whose standard prof? Depends on who you talk to. Like starry said, it is typically by his wealth, looks and occupation. Military it is by how high the rank is, politics how high the person is in that.
Personnally I would say the best judge would be how is the relationship with the wife and are they happy with each other, like what they both do, where they live. And if they have kids, how are they developing? I mean, any schmoo could achieve all kinds of things in status but having a good family life is hard for anybody to achieve.
Well, since I can't say how he is generally measured and only speak for myself, I think I better say nothing, because my outlook wouldn't be too positive regarding my experience
I suppose it is matter of opinion, I was pretty successful in the military, highly regarded and pretty successful in my new job...but am also in the process of divorce..no wife and she uses the kids as a weapon. So for me, I have a tendancy to feel like I've failed...or say, not succeeded in what I should have? Over time I might feel different.
How a man is measured in society is an entirely subjective standard. Everyone has their own ideas of how people are measured, whether it is through military experience, religion, politics, social status, etc.
I, personally, believe a man is measured by the way he treats others. A man could have all the money or social status, or whatever—but if he is a big jerk, who really wants to be around him? And, on the other end of the spectrum, you could have an impoverished, kind hearted soul who has wealth in friendship. That is who I would rather be with.
I would seriously wish it is by this word. His intent behind that word, and integrity. Leaving ego at bay more times than not, and understanding humanity is in all of us... Religion should never be a part of the man..only a part of his ideas, and learning... That in all things been said and done, the understanding that we carry the past in our blood... and carry it well.
wow, could be so much, rich! I think it goes for all,though...
A man is a man… a stand-up man, if you will —all grown up, and not a little boy— Values, morals, honesty, respect, priorities, & how he treats others ...those would be “some” important factors in determining how a man is measured in todays society.
