After much deliberation, it was categorically specified as a "cake"!!! Why??? Can anyone tell me what determines a biscuit from a cake??? Let's see who gets it first.........?? Anyone??

Biscuits ingrediant is baking soda where as cakes ingrediant is baking powder....

Is this somthing to do with VAT.If i remeber Jaffa cakes were classed as a cake and have to pay VAT if exposed to air go hard like cakes

Yes, there was much debate over whether the Jaffa Cake constituted a "cake" and therefore was able to be called a Jaffa "Cake" but as you find, a Jaffa Cake will go hard when stale, so its a cake!! And so they were able to keep the name!

I just thought that with there being so many dreary and old threads going round and round and round.......
I would just try and inject a little frivolity via a "puzzler" type thread. I was hoping it would be considered a little refreshing?? It has been made clear what some think of my efforts and, of course, I am bound to be disappointed.
