That's absolutely insane. 25K for a RING? I wouldn't even consider it, not now, not ever, ever, ever. That doesn't say I Love You any clearer than a ring that you take your time to pick out, or better yet design, because it speaks to you and to her. 10K would be the ceiling for me, and I would have an extremely hard time with that......

My daughter also did the same thing with her dad. Her way of thinking was why not try and get what she can out of him, but I tried to get her to understand that two wrongs don't make a right..and that she shouldn't use her dad that way regardless on how he treats her..She is 20 years old now and starting to see what I mean. She still craves his attention.

You can actually get a fabulous diamond ring for right around 5 grand. This I know for a fact!(unfortunately)
You can always add to it for special occasions or just get her a new ring. De Beers is regulating the supply of diamonds to keep the price high and diamonds shouldnt even be worth shiot. Just another pretty rock......
