As a beekeeper for almost 15 years, I've personally experienced basically everything possible (except foul brood). Currently, there are several theories concerning this latest outbreak of hive collapse. From a disease called "Nosema" to cell phone frequencies interfering with their internal navigation system. As time progresses I am inclined to tend to believe the latter- after comparing a chart of cell phone coverage maps and the most predominant reported loss of bees. Parasitic diseases (such as mites) I believe would have already been identified. GMO crops is a VERY valid hypothesis as well- especially when it involves crops with the "terminator gene" (a hybrid that will not reproduce) developed by Monsanto. Personally, I believe the bees will adapt and evolve.... or beekeepers will develop their own treatments/remedies.
Once x-mas I spent in the Austrian Alps and at the hotel you needed to go to the dining area to get German reception and in our room we had the Austrian net.
Since you want to avoid roaming charges you had to do all your sms while at breaky, lunch or dinner ...
I also heard it was cell phones.... I have lots of wasps and bees around my place... I also worked as a bee keeper when I was in high school.... it was great....
