Do you think I was being critical Wedward? True there's a fine line between being critical and being honest sometimes, then again some people do bring it on themselveslaugh

Ah, seeing me? To what purpose? I don't think it's necessary, besides, were I to put a picture up you would only be seeing that which I chose to show, this way you see more...

'manners maketh the man'

I always open doors for ladies in the correct manner; especially swinnging doors with perfect timing so the door swings back and smacks her in the gob.

I think that feminists who think it's an insult for a man to open a door for them out to burn their bras and get a job as a hod carrier on a building site.

I think it's quite 'cute' when nice young ladies open a door for me; if I groan a lot and make painful expressions I've even been able to persuade a young lady to give up her seat on a bus for me[exclamation mark].

Anyway, maybe I'm from the old school of people who like duelling at dawn to defend the honour of a lady. I do, however, think that Wedward should type 'you' instead of 'u' because you can't be both a 'cool dude' and a gentleman.

wat do u fink, smoky [question mark] - ok,ok I'm going to get a new keyboard today and the shift key will work and we'll all be happy [exclamation mark]

Hmmmm, the last duel in defense of a lady’s honour involved herrings on an abandoned Norwegian fishing trawler in the middle of the Atlantic.

I recently gave my son (19 yrs old) and his girlfriend a lift. I noticed how he opened the car door for her and thought "way to go son!". She said thank you and we were on our way.

In my opinion, manners and thoughtfulness never hurt anyone and any woman who complains of them needs to reflect on her own "issues"

for me personally im not soo bothered about good manners in the sense of opening doors, pulling out a chair etc.
but on a first date i would expect no farting or burping at the dinner table, picking their nose rolling it into a ball and wiping it on the table cloth.rolling on the floor laughing

Here is an example of why kids should learn manners, of the old-fashioned sort. I arrived at an outdoor bar`b`que and there were no vacant seats. There was, however, a small boy of 10 lounging in a recliner. He simply grunted a greeting and continued lounging, so I sat down on an upturned log, and then eventually found a cushion and sat on the grass.

Now, this little lout (in my opinion) should have had some sort of training in standing up for adults and offering his chair. Just because I actually enjoy sitting flat on the ground should not have been construed by his elders that it was okay what he was doing. If I was a decrepit old 80 yr old maybe he would have grudgingly vacated his lounger at the promptings of his parents, and probably with much bad grace.

If I were an employer of youth during vacations and Little Lout turned up for an interview, I would definitely not consider him, even for a paper route.

The other important thing, I feel, is Greetings. Little Lout has been told that unless he Greets the Parents and Me when he arrives at Our House, he can turn around and go home immediately. Little Lout appreciated this, and has extended his greetings to shaking our hands on arrival and departure ... a vast improvement in overall demeanour and I can see by his expression that he feels good about himself now ... not like a skulking creature with no idea of how to behave. Just got to work on the chair thing now.......dancing

I love it whan a man stands up when I walk into the room, or pulls the chair out for me to sit, light my cigarette and open the door for me. It's not just good maners it's a way of life. It's a pity it's not practiced more often these days.
